Introduction

Yummy and easy slow cooked brisket! Yummy and easy slow cooked brisket!
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    Brisket
    1/2 cup of ketchup
    1 cup of water
    1/4 cup of worcestershire sauce
    2T. dijon mustard
one packet of onion soup mix
1/4 cup of brown sugar. (You can substitute Splenda if you want.)
    2-4 LB. brisket

Directions

Brown brisket on both sides. Mix 1/2 cup of ketchup and 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 cup of worcestershire sauce, 2T. dijon mustard and one packet of onion soup mix with 1/4 cup of brown sugar. (you can substitute Splenda if you want) Pour over browned brisket in crockpot and cook on low 6-8 hours. If using the oven cook on low for 3-4 hours covered. If you are a fan of onions you can brown some in the pan while browning the brisket. This is best if it is sliced cold, but when slicing brisket it is important to remember to slice against the grain of the meat! Enjoy. Serve over noodles or rice or with Kasha and bow ties!

Making this in the crockpot now & it smells yummy! After browning the meat & onions I deglazed the skillet with 1 cup water. I then added the remaining sauce ingredients and simmered for a few minutes to let the flavors meld & poured over brisket & onions. Can't wait to taste it. - 11/6/14

    Incredible!
Good stuff. I upped the liquid quantities by about 50% (large slow cooker), seasoned brisket with Montreal seasoning before searing, added 1 large coarsely chopped onion on top of meat before pouring on the sauce. 2hrs on high, 5hrs on low. It rocked, thanks!

Glad you enjoyed it. I often add more water and the sauce doesn't lose it's flavor!
