Ingredients

    1 pound lean ground beef
    1 1/2 C. chopped onion
    2 tsp. Garlic
    1 bottle dry red wine
    3 cups broth, chicken or beef 99% fat free
    4 Carrots cut into 1/2 inch pieces
    3 C. whole mushrooms
    1 tsp. Tarragon, ground
    1 tsp. Marjoram, dried
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. pepper
    2 bay leaf
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. butter, softened



Directions

Brown ground beef and onion in a very large pot. Add broth, wine, garlic, bay leaves and spices. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 90 minutes. Add carrots and mushrooms. Bring to a boil again and cover. Simmer for 30 minutes or until veggies are tender. In a small bowl combine butter and flour. Add to soup and allow to boil for a while to thicken up.
