Ingredients

    * Salt, 1 tsp
    * Celery, raw, 2 cup, diced
    * Water, tap, 6 cup (8 fl oz)
    * Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), 1 lb bag
    * White Rice, long grain, 2 cup
    * Better Than Boullion Vegetable, 2 tsp


    soak dry garbanzos overnight.
    dice celery
    mix ingredients, bring to a boil,
    add other spices as you see fit - there's a ton of room for improvisation here. I usually add some onion, garlic, mustard seeds, turmeric, chile powder... whatever mood strikes you.

    simmer until rice and garbanzos are cooked through. you may need to add more water, depending on how fast it evaporates.

    eat, enjoy

Directions

boil, then reduce heat until beans and rice are cooked through - usually about an hour.
