Ingredients

1 1/4 cups White sugar
1 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
1 1/4 cups Butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. soda disolved in 2 tbls of hot water
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups of All purpose plain flour
1/2 tsp. ground clovers
1/2 tsp. ground all spice
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions
- Sift dry ingredients in to bowel (put aside)
- In a seperate bowl
Cream crisco, sugar and egg until fluffy
(about 7 mins.)
- Add hot water and soda, mix 2 mins.
- Sift dry ingredients and mix slow until all is
added.
- Shape a roll in to 2" diameter rolls on wax paper
only.
- Refreigerate 2 hours.
( May freeze wrapped in wax paper and foil for
3 months. Take out and thaw before cutting to
Bake.)
Bake:
- cut 1/2 " thick
- Bake in pre-heated oven 300-350 degree on
ungreased cookie sheet for 8-12 mins. or until
light golden, remove from cookie sheet and
cool on wax paper. Store in air tight container.
Yields about 6 dozen = Serving 1 cookie
