Introduction

I found this recipe and made my own modifications. My husband loves chili, but hates the chunky kind. So I put this in a food processor to make it smooth. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb beef stew meat
    1/4 c water
    1tbs chopped garlic
    1 lrg onion or 2 small
    2 tbs cornstarch
    1/3 cup chili powder
    1 diced green bell pepper
    1 tbs oregano
    1 tsp cumin
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp black ground pepper
    1/4 tsp red pepper
    2 cans red kidney beans, drained
    2- 14oz cans of diced tomatoes, undrained
    15oz can tomato sauce

Directions

Cook Beef in skillet. Mix the rest of ingredients (ALL BUT CORNSTARCH and Water) in a food processor and blend until desired smoothness. Pour into crockpot along w/ beef and cook low 7hrs. Turn crockpot up to high. Mix on the side cornstarch and water. pour into crockpot, stir and cook UNcovered for about 15min.

Serving Size: Makes about 8 servings.

    Very Good
    Did 1 lb. pre-browned ground beef, 1.5 cup onions. Omitted tomato sauce/added tomato paste & 1 cup of water instead (at the beginning). No cornstarch added. NO BLENDING. One can of sliced mushrooms (no green pepper). Added extra hot peppers, crushed chili pepper. On HIGH about 4 hours/LOW 1 hour. - 2/15/17
