Introduction

I make this for holiday get-togethers and always get rave reviews. It tastes great on leftover turkey sandwiches, too! I make this for holiday get-togethers and always get rave reviews. It tastes great on leftover turkey sandwiches, too!

Ingredients

1 bag of fresh cranberries (12 oz. bag)
3/4 cup Splenda (or other sugar substitute equal to 3/4 cup sugar)
    1 cup water
    Juice from 1 orange
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Tips

You can also include the pulp of the orange (avoiding the membranes) by using a grapefruit knife. You may also wish to add some chopped walnuts for some crunch.

Directions

1. Put washed cranberries in a saucepan, and pick through them to remove soft and/or brown ones.

2. Cut the orange in half and squeeze out the juice, avoiding the seeds. Add the juice to the saucepan as well as the rest of the ingredients. Stir and bring to a boil on medium-high heat.

3. Stir frequently. The cranberries will pop, and then release their "gel." The sauce will come together like magic. Cook until the sauce is the consistency you desire, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Serving Size: Makes 8 servings, approximately 1/4 cup each.
