Ingredients
-
4.5tsp Active Dry Yeast (2 pouches)
.5c warm water (110-115 degrees)
2c warm milk 9110-115 degrees)
6tbsp Shortening
2 eggs
.25c Sugar
.5c honey
7c flour (4c WW flour, 3c All purpose flour)
Pinch of salt
Tips
Make sure water isn't too hot. Too high a temperature will kill the yeast.
Directions
1)In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add milk, shortening, eggs, sugar, salt, honey, and 3c flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough
2) Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8min (dough will be sticky). Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1hr
3) Punch dough down and turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide into rolls and place on a cookie sheet. Let rise until doubled, about 30min
4) Bake @350 degrees for 20-25min or until golden brown.
