Introduction

Not a "low fat" recipe, but these are a Christmas tradition at my house. Some of my earliest memories are of my Mom making these every Christmas, and now I make them for my children. Ingredients

    *Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched, 3.5 cup
    Butter, salted, 1 cup
    Salt, .5 tsp
    Pecans, 1 cup, chopped
    Brown Sugar, 2 cup, packed
    Egg, fresh, 2 large
    Baking Soda, 1 tsp

Directions

Sift flour, salt and soda into mixing bowl. Add butter and mix with hands until it looks like fine crumbs. Add eggs, brown sugar, and nuts. Mix well with hands and pour onto waxed paper. Form into two long rolls and roll in the waxed paper. Place rolls into the refrigerator or freezer until dough is chilled through. When dough is chilled, slice thin and bake in preheated 350 degree until golden brown.
