Introduction

Way better then the canned stuff- you can freeze extra sauce or can in mason jars. Way better then the canned stuff- you can freeze extra sauce or can in mason jars.

Ingredients

    2 Red bell peppers chopped
    2 green bell peppers chopped
    20 mushrooms sliced
    1 large onion
3 pounds extra lean ground beef (browned fat removed)
1 clove of garlic chopped fine
    4 celery stalks
    2 medium carrots
    1 large can tomato juice
    1 large can stewed tomatoes
1 large can of spiced cubed tomatoes
1 small can of tomato paste
    1/4 cup Italian spices
    1 large can tomato sauce

Tips

I like canning better because you don't get extra juice from freezing, and it's easy and quick when time to make supper.

Directions

Brown meat and drain fat. Place the rest if the ingredients with the drained meat in a large EXCEPT tomato paste. Let boil at least one hour - the more the better. Add tomato paste and let simmer until thickened. My kids LOVE this stuff.

Serving Size: Makes 4 1L mason jars (we eat 2 adults and 2 children and have 2 leftover meals with one jar)
