Introduction

Can make this healthier by experimenting with lower fat/sugar options. Try unsweetened coconut, fewer M&Ms, less brown sugar, light margarine, etc. Can make this healthier by experimenting with lower fat/sugar options. Try unsweetened coconut, fewer M&Ms, less brown sugar, light margarine, etc.

Ingredients

    2&1/2 C. quick oats
1/2 C. Cereal (I used wheat Chex broken up, but could also use Rice Krispies)
    1/4 C. Shredded Coconut
    1/2 C. M&M minis (I used regular M&Ms broken up)
    1/2 C. Brown Sugar
    1/2 tsp. Salt
    1/2 C. butter, softened
1/4 C. honey (spray measuring cup with nonstick spray)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Mix completely. Pack into greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 degrees. Once completely cool, cut into strips or squares. For thicker bars, use 8"x8" pan. *I used regular M&Ms broken up (ziplock and hammer each individual candy once).

Serving Size: Can make 12 dessert sized bars, or 24 "granola bar" sized treats
