Introduction
From Bob's Red Mill recipe collection From Bob's Red Mill recipe collectionNumber of Servings: 20
Ingredients
-
1 to 1 1/4 cup bread flour
1/2 package of active dry yeast
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 cup milk
3/8 cup water
1/8 cup molasses
1 1/2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup Bob's Red Mill graham flour
1/2 cup raisins
Tips
I have the recipe halved from the original. The recipe I have on hand makes 2 loaves.
Directions
Add bread flour, cinnamon, and ginger to the pan of a bread machine. In a separate bowl, mix together milk, water, butter, molasses, and salt. Heat in a microwave for 30-45 seconds until the temperature reaches 115 to 120 degrees. Add to the bread pan. Add the graham flour to the pan, then create a small well with your finger and add the yeast. Make sure the yeast does not come into contact with any of the wet ingredients.
Turn the bread maker onto the dough setting. Add raisins after the first 5 minute resting period. After the bread machine is finished with the second resting period, remove from the pan and place in a greased loaf pan and let the dough continue rising. Place a towel over the top and make sure the area is slightly warm. (Like sitting on top of the stove of a preheated oven) Let it sit for 30 minutes. Afterward, put the dough in a 350 degree preheated oven for 30 more minutes.
After baking, set out and let the bread cool with a cloth placed over the top (this will help the bread become soft). Enjoy!
Serving Size: Makes 12 slices (1 loaf)
