Ingredients

    3 Italian Style Turkey Sausages
    2 Tsp Olive Oil
    2 medium bell peppers red, yellow or orange cut into 2 inch slices
    1 medium onion thinly sliced
    1/3 cup red wine
    1 1/2 tsp fresh crushed garlic or more to taste
    28 oz canned crushed tomatoes (fire roasted recommended)
    1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
    8 oz whole wheat pasta (uncooked)
    1 tbsp basil dry or 1/3 cup chopped fresh

Directions

Bring pot of water to boil for pasta.

Take casing off sausage, crumble and cook over medium high heat stirring and breaking up until cooked through 3 to 5 minutes remove to plate.

Heat oil in same pan add peppers and onion cook stirring frequently until vegetables are lightly colored and tender (about 5/8 minutes).

Add wine and garlic cook until most of liquid evaporates. Add tomatoes, crushed red pepper salt, basil (if using dry) and browned sausage. Bring to boil. Reduced heat and cook until vegetables are teneder and sauce is heated through about 10 minutes.

While sauce simmers, cook pasta according to directions on box, drain and add to sauce, (add fresh basil if using instead of dry) toss to mix and coat,
