Ingredients

    1.5 cups mashed bananas
    1 cup sugar
    3 eggs
    1/3 cup applesauce
    1 tbsp vanilla extract
    1.25 cups whole wheat flour
    1 cup white flour
    3/4 cup quick cooking oats
    2 tbsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 dash salt
    1 cup milk chocolate chips

Tips

Using applesauce instead of oil lowers the fat content. You can also substitute egg whites for whole eggs. If using all whole wheat flour, increase moisture accordingly. Nuts can be added if desired, but not included in this calculation.


Directions

Mix first 5 ingredients together, set aside. Mix all remaining ingredients in separate bowl. Combine both bowls by adding dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Grease 2 loaf pans and distribute bread mix evenly. Bake at 350 for 55 mins. Bread is done when toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool for 30 mins before removing from pans. Allow to cool completely on wire racks before slicing.
