Introduction

No drippings needed - anybody can make this super-easy gravy! No drippings needed - anybody can make this super-easy gravy!
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 cup water
2 cubes bouillon or 2 tsp bouillon granules

    1 heaping TBSP cornstarch
    Small amount of water

Directions

Boil 1 cup water and bouillon until dissolved. If you'd like to make beef gravy, use beef bouillon. You can also use half chicken bouillon and half beef bouillon. If using granules (which I actually prefer) use 2 tsp instead of 2 cubes.

While water is boiling, put a heaping TBSP of cornstarch in a small measuring cup. Slowly add water until cornstarch reaches the consistency where it will stir and pour but still feels stiff.

When bouillon has dissolved, remove water/bouillon mixture from heat. Slowly add cornstarch mixture, whisking or stirring vigorously.

Gravy and sauces are my downfall. This looks like a great option. Can't wait to try it! - 5/30/11

Excellent. I'd try it, but I am allergic to corn--I'd have to use flour, but I think it will work as well. - 8/1/08
