Introduction


Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 3/4 cup flour
    1 cup sugar
    3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup buttermilk
    1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
    2 teaspoons vanilla

Tips

The recipe doesn't call for the chocolate chips but I like them..I also will spread the chips on the top of the warm cake then spread to make a thin layer of frosting.


Directions

Combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, salt.
Add buttermilk, vanilla, vegetable oil, chocolate chips. Mix well.
Pour into buttered & floured 9 or 10" cake pan.
Bake at 350 degrees f-30 minutes until tester comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes before turning out of pan.
