Ingredients
-
Water, 11/2 c
Olive Oil, 2 tbsp
Salt, 3/4 tsp.
*Flour, white, 2 cup
*Whole Wheat Flour, 2 cup
Yeast, bakers, .4 ounce, 2 tsp
10 oz Spinach, thawed
1 c part skin ricotta cheese
1 c mozarella cheese
1/4 tsp garlic powder
pepper to taste
Directions
Prepare your pizza dough as you normally do, I use my bread machine. Form 6, 5 inch circles and let rise again; I let my dough rise for 30 minutes because I like it chewy.
Preheat the oven to 475F. Squeeze out as much water from the spinach as possible, mix with other cheeses and garlic. (I add other vegetables like asparagus and onion for added flavor but those are not included in the calorie count of this recipe).
Divide filling equally, leaving an 1in border then fold and pinch sealed. Cut a small vent on top and bake for 5-10 minutes or until browned.
Serving Size: Makes 6 individual -5 inch calzones
