Introduction
This is a recipe developed over many years to be simple, yet very flavorful! This is a recipe developed over many years to be simple, yet very flavorful!Number of Servings: 8
Ingredients
-
Organic Diced Tomotoes (28 oz)
Organic Pasta Sauce (28 oz)
Medium Onion, chopped
1 LB Lean Ground Beef (substitue ground chicken or turkey for even fewer calories and fat!)
1 Tbsp Parsley
4 Cloves chopped Garlic
1 Tbsp Basil
1 Tsp Oregano
Directions
Brown Ground Beef, Garlic and Onion in a saucepan until fully cooked. Remove and drain thoroughly.
Put all ingredients in a crock pot and stir until well mixed.
There are many options to cook based on your need.
In a crock pot:
- Cook all day on low, or
- Cook for at least 1 hour on high
- Cook virtually anywhere in between based on your needs! The longer and slower it cooks, the tastier.
On the stove, simmer in a stewing pot for at least 30 minutes.
Serve hot over your favorite pasta.
It freezes well, and tastes better the next day!
Makes eight 1 cup servings.
Option for those who love fat....
Add 1 LB of your favorite raw italian sausage to the crock pot, but be sure to cook on low at least 3 hours. For less tender sausages, you can brown them first in a saucepan, pat them dry, and then put them in the pot. Using this method, they do not need to cook too long.
