Introduction

When my husband asks for beef and rice I use any kind of Rice-A-Roni I have on hand. I cook in cast iron so 2 of the T. of olive oil are used to cook the hamburger in, the other 2 to brown the Rice-A-Roni in. Ingredients

1 box Rice-A-Roni Italian Creamy Garlic
1 lb Ground beef round 85/15
1 can Lindsay California ripe pitted black olives, cut in halves or fourths
    2 tbsp minced, dehydrated onion
    2 tbsp Garlic powder
4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Tips

I always add a little extra water to keep it from sticking. We like using this for burrito filling so, for the two of us, it makes usually 2-3 meals, depending on how hungry Ken is.

Directions

Cook the hamburger, minced onion, and garlic powder in 2 T of the olive oil. (I use a 12" cast iron skillet.) Push to the side and add the rest of the olive oil. Brown Rice-A-Roni according to pkg directions. Continue following pkg directions for Rice-A-Roni. Add black olives before serving.
