Ingredients

    1 cup of white wine
    1 cup of granulated sugar
1 cup of olive oil (canola can be substituted)
    Approximately 6 cups of flour

Tips

At holiday time we have used colored granulated sugar to add some festive appearance!

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bow mix well the wine, sugar and oil. Once all ingredients are well mixed add flour 1/2 cup at a time. Add flour until you have a dough that can be rolled easily. Put a small amount of granualted sugar onto a saucer. Using about a ping-pong size ball of dough roll into "snakes". Pinch ends to make an "O" with the dough. Dip one side in the sugar on the saucer and place onto a cookie sheet. About 1 dozen should fit onto a cookie sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. These cookies are intended to be crisp and are a good companion to coffee or tea.
