Ingredients

2 pkg TJs Chicken strips diced small and browned, or tofu, drained, cubed and browned or TJs chicken strips, diced and browned
4 Tbsp olive oil
5 cardamom pods
2 onions chopped finely
2 tsp fresh ginger finely chopped
2 tsp garlic, chopped
1 tbsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp curry powder
1 Tsp cayenne
1 tbsp garam masala
2 cans organic diced tomatoes
1 cup water
Salt to taste
Coriander to garnish
Mix in ˝ cup yogurt
˝ stick butter
Tips
Serve over brown rice if desired.
Directions
Put the oil into a pan over a medium heat.
Drain, rinse, pat dry and brown tofu or brown the vegie chicken, set aside
When hot, add the cardamom pods. Add the onions and cook while stirring, until brown.
Add all of the spices , garlic, cumin, curry, coriander, turmeric, garam masala and chilli and stir.
Add the remaining ingredients. Not the chicken/tofu.
Add the tomatoes and stir until thoroughly combined.
Pour in the water and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly.
Taste the sauce and season with salt.
Add the browned "chicken" or tofu cubes and mix well into the masala. Stir in yogurt and butter. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve .
