Ingredients

1c granulated sugar
1c brown sugar packed
2 eggs
2 tbs vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla
1/3c nonfat milk
1/3c unsweetened applesauce
1.5c whole wheat flour
1/2c white flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3 c quick cooking rolled oats
1c raisins
1/4c slivered almonds
Directions
Spray baking sheets with nonstick spray.
Beat together sugars, eggs, and oil. Beat in vanilla, milk and applesauce. Stir together dry ingredients and add to wet mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
Drop by teaspoonful onto baking sheet; bake in 350 degree oven for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Sotre in airtight cointainer 3-4 days or freeze.

This recipe was really, really good. I did make some alterations. I like my "spice" really spicy so I added more cinnamon and I also added about 1 tsp ground cloves and about 1ish tsp of ground ginger. I didn't put in nuts. All in all they turned out very well. Kind of flat though. Not sure why. - 1/31/10
