Ingredients
-
1 lbs Ground Turkey, 93% Lean
1/2 c Old Fashioned Rolled Oats (dry)
1 1/2 Tbsp Regular Wheat Germ
1/4 c minced onion
3 Tbsp Liquid Egg White (equivalent to 1 egg)
1/4 c water
3/4 tsp Instant Beef Boullion Granules (Low Sodium, if possible)
2 -3 Tbsp Ketchup
1/4 tsp Maggi Seasoning
1/4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 - 1/2 tsp pepper (to your taste)
1/4 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/4 c skim milk
Tips
The nutrional information is based on regular beef boullion granules. Additionally, I only used 2 Tbsp of Ketchup, but you could add more. If you like Ketchup you could add it to the top of your meatloaf during the last 10 minutes of it baking. You could also use bread crumbs in place of the oatmeal. You could omit the wheat germ if you don't have it. It's more for nutrition than taste.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare a 1-2 pound loaf pan, by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil so that either of these cover the entire inside of pan and several inches of it to lay over all four sides of the top of the pan. (This allows you to remove the meatloaf and place it on a serving dish....and best of all...makes for easy clean up!) If you choose not to line your pan, use baking spray on all interior surfaces.
In medium size mixing bowl, place rolled oats, wheat germ, minced onion, and liquid egg whites; set aside.
In microwave safe 1 cup measuring cup, add water and beef boullion granules. Microwave for 30-45 seconds, stir until granules dissolve. Add ketchup, Maggi & Worcestershire Sauces, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix these ingredients together, then stir in the milk.
Add liquid mixture to rolled oats, wheat germ, & onions. Stir.
Place ground turkey into mixture. Blend well. (Works best with your hands and not a spoon.)
Once all ingredients are incorporated, place in prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
