Introduction

I add an egg and wheat bran for added nutrition... you can omit this, but remember that not only will your fat and calories be lower, but your protein and fiber will be too! Can be made with other types of oatmeal too, but the less processed the better! Ingredients

    1/4 cup steel-cut oats
    1/4 cup wheat bran
    1 1/2 cups boiling water
    2 tsp splenda
    2 tbsp fancy molasses
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp ginger
    1/2 tsp cloves
    1 large egg

Tips

* you could also multiply this recipe and make it in the crockpot or on the stove.
*For a less spicy oatmeal, stir in the spices only after cooking


Directions

add everything to rice cooker
mix well
cook on high until it turns itself off
stir well
return to full high
allow to sit 20 minutes in the "hold warm" cycle
