Ingredients

    1 cup + 2 Tbsp all purpose flour
    1 Tbsp sugar
    1 tsp baking powder
    .25 tsp baking soda
    .25 tsp salt
    .5 cup plain low fat yogurt
    .25 c egg substitute or 1 regular large egg
    1 Tbsp butter, melted and cooled
    .25 cup choc chips or dried fruit (optional)

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees farenheit, Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray or, line baking sheet with parchment paper (no nonstick spray required then). In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a small bowl, combine yogurt, egg and butter. Add yogurt mixture to the flour mixture, stir until just blended. You can add chocolate chips, dried blueberries ordried cranberries to dough if desired.
    Dough will be sticky. Drop by large tablespoons onto baking sheet. Should have 9 scones.

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees Farenheit. Reduce oven to 400 degree Farenheit when ready to bake scones. Bake until scones are golden brown. 10-14 minutes. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes.

    Very Good
    I'm not the biggest scone fan in general but this recipe appealed to me because it is easy and low in calories. I can see using it with different add ins both sweet and savory. Great recipe! (I used ff plain Greek yogurt) - 1/20/13
