Ingredients

    Rinse beans. In 4qt dutch oven combine beans & 8 cups water. Bring to boiling; reduce heat & simmer 2 min. Remove from heat, cover & let stand 1 hr. Bring beans and liquid to boiling. Add ham. Reduce heat; cover & simmer for 1 hr or until beans are done. Add vegetables & seasonings. Cover & simmer 30 minutes or till vegetables are tender.
