Ingredients

5 cups flour
1/2 cup warm milk
2 cups milk
2 tbls. brandy (secret ingredient)
1 pack active dry yeast
3 tsps. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
3 tbsp. canola or vegetable oil
3 cups canola oil for frying
Tips
Your can enjoy these plain or with your favorite filling. I enjoy making lemon curd and fill half my batch with that.
Directions
Add sugar and yeast to warm milk. Set aside for yeast to activate (about 5 min.).
Add liquid ingredients together, add salt to liquids
Add flour a little at a time.
Mix until dough comes together to form ball
Knead until smooth ... add to bowl and cover with towel. Let rise until double in bulk.
Roll dough out to 1/2" thickness. Cut discs out with anything round. Fry in 2" of canola oil at 320 degrees approximately 2 minutes per side, flip to opposite side when brown ring forms.
Roll in confectioners sugar and enjoy!
