Ingredients

1/2 cup earth balance margerine
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup vanilla soymilk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoons hard margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla

My recipe makes thinner bars, there for fewer calories and is also milk and lactose free.
Directions

Cream first amount of margarine and brown sugar together in a large bowl.

Beat in egg and first amount of vanilla.

Add flour, rolled oats and baking soda; mix.

Pack 2/3 of oat mixture in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. (Will be pretty thin layer)

Bake bottom layer for 5 min.

Heat and stir remaining 4 ingredients in small saucepan until chocolate chips are melted.

Spread over bottom layer.

Remaining oat mixture should be pretty crumbly, sprinkle over chocolate layer.

Don't be concerned if a few spaces aren't covered.

Bake in 350°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cool.

Cut into squares.
