Ingredients

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 Tbs butter-flavored shortening
1 tsp instant coffee granules
3 eggs
1-1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, chopped
6 Tbs all-purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Directions
Combine chocolate chips and shortening in a medium saucepan over low heat; heat until chocolate chips are about halfway melted, add instant coffee granules, and stir until smooth. Cool.
Beat together eggs and sugar until light and lemon-colored, about 4-5 minutes. Add chocolate mixture and vanilla; beat on low speed until combined.
Add remaining ingredients; beat on low speed until combined.
Place teaspoonful-size cookies on greased baking pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until top is just set. Do not overbake.
Cool on cookie sheets 1-2 minutes, then transfer to cool completely.
Powdered sugar or a pecan half may be used to garnish.
