Ingredients

    ½ lb flank steak
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 small chili pepper, seeded and chopped
    ½ small onion, finely chopped
    1½ teaspoons grated fresh ginger root
    1½ tablespoons lime juice
    1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    ½ teaspoon salt
    1 package 6-inch bamboo skewers
    ½ cup brown Jasmine rice

    2 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced
    2 star fruit, sliced crosswise

Marinate Ahead


Directions

Cut steak across grain into long thin strips,
about ¼ inch thick and 1 inch wide. Combine
garlic, chili pepper, onion, ginger, lime juice, soy
sauce, olive oil and salt in a large zip-top bag.
Add meat and marinate 2 hours or overnight.
Soak skewers in water while meat is
marinating. Weave one meat strip onto each
bamboo skewer. Preheat broiler to high heat.
When broiler is ready, place skewers on a
broiler rack. Cook 5 minutes or until done. Cook
Jasmine rice according to package directions,
and serve beef over rice.
