Introduction

I lightened this by using fat free half and half instead of heavy whipping cream, turkey sausage, precooked bacon. I was pleased with the results. I lightened this by using fat free half and half instead of heavy whipping cream, turkey sausage, precooked bacon. I was pleased with the results.

Ingredients

    13 oz turkey sausage
    1 cup chopped onion
    2 garlic cloves
    cooking spray
    1 large potato
    4 cups chicken broth
1 cup of fat free half and half
2 to 3 cups of Kale fresh and chopped
salt and pepper to taste, I didn't use any

Tips

I used a Turkey Kielbasa Sausage but a turkey Italian sausage would be good too.

Directions

Spray pan with cooking spray - brown chopped onion and garlic cloves. Add broth and chopped potatoes in small pieces. Add sausage and cook till potatoes are done. I used a precooked sausage, but if you use an uncooked sausage I would brown it with the onion and garlic. I cooked it altogether just to get the flavors to blend. Turn you stove way down and add kale and half and half and heat till kale is cooked, just a few minutes. Don't boil at this point.
