Ingredients

    canned prepared wine sourkraut
    1 sliced onion
    1 peeled and sliced
    50 g slab diced bacon
    1tsp vegetable oil
    10 genever grains
    10 peppercorn
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 cup chicken broth ( homemade , if possible), to keep moisture

Tips

It might be necessary to rince the sourkraut if f it is too sour. It depends on the quality or the taste.
Boiled potatoes , which are added to cooking pot the last 5 mns and a lo-fat frankfurter can make a complete meal.


Directions

Cook oil to medium high, and add bacon to fry and release fat.

Drain fat, reserving 1 Tbsp .
Set bacon bits on a paper towel to absorb exces fat and reserve.

In reserved fat , cook apples and onions until transparent, add sourkraut , peppercorns , genever corns bayleaf and bouillon, and bacon bits.
Cover and cook on slow for 2 hours, checking from time to time to top up with bouillon ,if necessarry.
