Ingredients
-
Avocados, California (Haas), 1 fruit without skin and seeds
Large raw egg
1/4 cup Almond flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
Pepper powder, 1 tsp. (I used cayenne)
Half a lemon.
Tips
The nutrition facts is for the total amount of ingredients used. For the fact that the ingredients were used to bread, the calories will determine how much is in a serving depending on how much of the breading you use.
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
2. Lay a baking tray in the oven to get it real hot... this is important as this is what will get them super golden and crispy.
3. Mix half of the lemon juice, saving half for later, and the egg together in a bowl and whisk until they are thoroughly combined.
4. Mix dry ingredients into another bowl.
5. Very thinly slice the avocado, as this will determine how crisp they become. Be careful not to make them too thin because they'll just mush if they are.
6. Get the pan out of the oven and spray with olive olive oil cooking spray.
7. Dip them in the egg mixture and then lightly bread them with the powder. Lay the slices on the tray. You should hear them sizzle slightly.
8. Squeeze the rest of the lemon juice on top.
9. Reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes or until they are crispy.
10. Let them cool so that they can stiffen up. Serve with a dip or just eat plain. Enjoy!!
Serving Size: Makes four servings of crispy slices.
