Ingredients

    4 ounces mild Italian sausage
    3/4 cup drained and rinsed navy beans
    1 cuo diced onion
    1 cup diced broccoli stems
    1 cup diced carrots
    1 cup diced red pepper
    1 cup chopped kale
    1.25 cup chicken broth
    2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    dash of black pepper
    1 - 1.5 cups water to fill to 2 quarts

Tips

Think of this as a start to a wonderful soup that you design by adding your favorite veggies like celery or tomatoes.


Directions

Brown Italian sausage in skillet and drain & blot fat with paper towel. Drain and rinse a can of navy beans. Combine sausage in slow cooker. Cut veggies and add to slow cooker. Add Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt & pepper to taste. Slow cook on high for 6 to 8 hours.

Serving Size: makes 8 1-cup servings.
