Ingredients

1 tbsp Olive Oil
Onions, 1 medium finely chopped
1 Bell pepper finely chopped
1 Jalapeno pepper seeded finely chopped
2 Garlic cloved finely chopped
1 TBS Chinese Five-spice Powder
2 Tsp Chili Powder
1 Butternut squash (about 2 lbs) Seeded, Peeled and Chunked
1 Lb ground venison
1 28oz can diceed tomatoes with juice
1 C Beer
1 TBS Unsweeted Cocoa Powder
1 Tsp brown sugar
1 15.5oz can Black Beans drained
1-1.5 C Vegetable stock
Salt to taste
Juice of a lime
Directions
Heat Olive oil in skillet, brown venison then add onions, bell pepper and jalapeno and saute until onions transparent. Add mixture to large soup pot.
add spices, garlic, squash, venison, tomatoes, beer, cocoa, brown sugar, stock and simmer for 20-30 min til squash is fork tender. add beans and lime juice, then simmer for 5-10 min longer. Add any extra salt it needs serve garnished with lime wedges, cilantro and sour cream.
