Introduction
My fiance began making this for me when I started my weight loss journey. It is extremely satisfying with Stacy' Pita Chips or Carrots I finally caught him making it and was able to get the recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have! My fiance began making this for me when I started my weight loss journey. Ingredients
-
2 Cups of Chickpeas, drained with the liquid set aside
4 Garlic Cloves minced or pureed
2 Tablespoons Tahini
3 Tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
* 100% lemon is a great substitute.
2 Tablespoons of the liquid from the chickpeas
8 Dashes of hot sauce of your choice. I prefer Tabanero.
*This is only for flavor. This small amount will NOT
make the recipe spicy. Add more to your taste.
1 Teaspoon of salt - or salt to taste.
Tips
Be sure to pulse your food processor or you may end up with too fine of a texture. You will know this has happened if your hummus resembles the texture of Greek yogurt.
Directions
We use a NutriBullet but any food processor is fine! Simply add all ingredients to the food processor and pulse until the desired texture is achieved. Additional lemon juice, salt or hot sauce can be added to adjust the recipe to your preference.
If you are using a Magic Bullet add all ingredients to the cup and only use 1/2 the chickpeas until they are blended. Then, add the second 1/2 of the chickpeas and control the texture by pulsing, adding additional lemon juice if necessary.
