Ingredients

1 lb sausage (I like Jimmy Dean brand)
    1/3 C flour, whole wheat
    4-6 C milk
    black pepper, to taste

Tips

My measurements are estimated due to the way I cook. I usually add ingredients until the consistency looks good. The flour should completely cover the sausage. If the gravy is too thick, add a little more milk; if too thin, mix a little flour and milk in a cup until blended (like a thin paste) then add to gravy to avoid lumping.

Directions

Crumble and cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat. When completely brown add flour and mix well. Add milk and stir almost constantly to avoid lumps. Season to taste. Serve with warm biscuits.
