Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    6 oz grape tomatoes, halved
    2 tsp balsamic vinegar
    1 tsp pure maple syrup
1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
2 large fresh basil leaves, chiffonade
    Salt and pepper

Tips

You can substitute the vinegar and syrup with maple-infused balsamic vinegar (found in specialty stores or online). Use high-quality syrup for the best flavor.

Serving at room temperature brings out the flavors of the dish.

Directions

To chiffonade basil leaves, tightly roll each leaf lengthwise and slice into thin strips.

In a small bowl, place halved grape tomatoes and basil leaves. Drizzle vinegar, syrup and olive oil over tomatoes. Toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Allow tomatoes to marinade at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving (but you can always eat them right away:))
