Ingredients

200g lean ground beef
1 cup of lentils (I used mixed puy and red)
2 onions chopped
1 red or green bell pepper chopped
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
1tbsp chili powder
2 cloves of garlic
1 hot fresh red chili
2 cans of tomatoes
1 cup rolled oats
1 glass of red wine
Directions
Makes 8 servings
In a large pan fry the ground beef until all the pink has gone. Add the onions, bell pepper, fresh chili, garlic, celery and carrot. Stir until the vegeables are starting to soften. Add the dried lentils, and red wine. Allow the wine to cook for a few minutes. Add oats, canned tomatoes, chili powder. If it looks a little dry add water or stock. Stir well and allow to simmer for at least an hour.
