Ingredients

    Veggie Burgers

    1 can (16 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed

    ½ chopped green bell pepper (can use other color of pepper)

    ½ chopped onion

    3 gloves garlic chopped

    1 egg

    1 tablespoon chili powder

    1 tablespoon cumin

    1 teaspoon Thai chili sauce or hot sauce (I use Sriracha)

    ½ cup to 1 cup breadcrumbs or ground oatmeal

    Sometimes I add a small zucchini and therefore have to add extra breadcrumbs.  I also

    sometimes add a jalapeno.

    Mix it all in a food processor as it’s easier.  If you don’t have one, make sure you mash your

    beans and then stir everything together.

    Make them into patties and either grill them or cook them in an oiled pan. (I use olive oil)  I find

    it easier in a pan as they seem to fall apart on the grill.
