Ingredients

    2.5 c boiling water
    1 lb dates cut up
    1/2 cup walnuts
    1 egg
    1 tbsp. applesauce
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 c sugar
    2 3/4 c flour
    2 tsp baking soda
    pinch salt

Directions

place cut up date in boiling water
cool and stir
cream nuts, egg, applesauce, vanilla, and sugar. Add to dates when cool then add the dry ingredients. put into greased, floured loaf pans

350 for 1 hour

Serving Size: makes 2-3 loaves
