Introduction

An old family favourite. An old family favourite.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    6 medium potatoes, peeled and shredded.
    1/4 cup flour.
    1 egg, beaten.
    dash of salt.
    dash of ground pepper.
    2 tsp dried dill weed.
    1/2 cup finely chopped onion.
    (*butter or lard for greasing the pan.)

Tips

If you like bacon, you can cut up 2 slices of bacon, and place the bits of cut up bacon on the top of the cake, and press them slightly into the mixture before you cook it.


Directions

1) Preheat oven to 350 'F.
2) Grease a pyrex 13X9 cake dish with lard or butter. Set aside.
3) In a large bowl, add the shredded potato, flour, egg, salt, pepper, dill weed and onion. Mix well.
4) Pour the potato mixture into the prepared cake pan. Smooth the mixture out, to make it even.
5) Place the pan in the middle of the preheated oven, and bake until nicely browned and cooked through.

Serve while hot.
