Introduction

Wanted a home-made sloppy joe recipe to avoid processed Manwich ingredients and HFCS! Most recipes have ketchup.. not here! All diced tomatoes and sauce. Modified recipe to lower sugar & left out the vinegar.

Ingredients

    14oz Tomato Sauce(I used 1 8oz can + 6oz pureed *diced tomatoes)
    7oz Diced or Pureed Tomatoes (I used seasoned & 11oz total)
    1 diced Green Pepper( I used 10g frozen & 1 tbsp dried)
    2 tbsp Granulated Sugar
    (still a bit sweet original recipe called for 1/4c (4 tbsp!))
    1lb Ground Beef (73%/27% in nutrition count)
    Hamburger Buns (not included in nutrition count)

Tips

739g total
*Recommend draining diced tomatoes


Directions

-Brown and drain meat.
-If using 8oz tomato sauce, finely puree drained 6oz diced tomatoes
-Add the rest of the ingredients.
-Stir and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until green pepper is soft.
-Serve over hamburger buns. (or eat with fork for low carb :) )
-Enjoy
