Ingredients

4.5 cups of brown long grain rice.
30 oz of mixed frozen vegetables (about half a large package).
2 cups of crushed tomatoes (just over half a 28 oz can)
9 oz of lean ground beef (3 servings)
    3 cloves of garlic
    Half salt to taste
    2 bay leaves

Directions

Bring 3 litres of water to a boil and drop in the rice, vegetables, and beef. Drop the temperature so that the water is simmering and let it cook for 30 minutes.
Add the tomatoes and the spices and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
A serving is 2 cups and it should be a little saucy so it's a dish that you eat with a spoon and scoop out of the pot with a ladle. Not dry like traditional rice dishes.
