Introduction

Traditional chai made in Indian houses every morning. Traditional chai made in Indian houses every morning.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 cup Milk, nonfat (skim milk)
3 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    1 tsp Ginger Root
    .2 tsp Cinnamon, ground
.1 tsp cardamon spice, ground (by JAMARCIL)
1 serving Banyan Botanicals Organic Tulsi Leaf Powder (Ocimum sanctum [Holy Basil]) serving size 1/2 tsp (by RURABE)
4 serving Lipton Black Tea (1 tea bag)

Tips

Vary the spices for variety. Also, the amount of tea leaves to be added depend on personal preference (how much kick you want out of your morning beverage) and the brand/source of tea leaves.

Directions

Bring water to a boil with all the spices in it. Add tea leaves when the water is boiling and allow to simmer for a few minutes. Add milk, again bring to boil and then cover the pot and let sit (turn of heat) for several minutes. This helps for the flavor and potency to transfer to the tea. Stain into cups and drink hot!
