Tips

This is an easy recipe for entertaining, especially if you want to enjoy your guests instead of the kitchen. Serve with potato rolls or another soft roll for pulled pork sandwiches.

Directions

Put a 5-6 lb pork shoulder into a crock pot/slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper. Add 1 3/4 c Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/4 c liquid smoke. Cook on low for 10 hours. Remove the pork shoulder and shred with 2 forks. Add meat back to slow cooker, add 1/2 c, loosely packed brown sugar, about 20-25 shakes of Texas Pete, and between 2-4 tsp of red pepper flakes to the meat. Stir until combined. Taste a bite for a flavor check and add more hot sauce or red pepper flakes as required. Cook on low for another hour or until time to serve.
