Ingredients

    1/2 tsp Pepper, white
    1 1/2 tsp Salt
    1 pound Mushrooms, fresh
    4 large Onions, sliced
    12 cup Water, tap
    3/4 cup Barley, pearled, raw & rinsed
    1 T dry Oatmeal (plain)

Tips

makes approx. 10 cup servings


Directions

Brown sliced onions
Add sliced mushrooms
Add Barley
Add water
Bring to boil uncovered for 1 hour until barley is soft
Simmer uncovered for 60 minutes till Barley soft
Add salt & pepper
Add oatmeal to thicken

Serving Size: 8 bowls
