Introduction

A healthy Gyro-like sandwich that is easily prepared and will fill you up! A healthy Gyro-like sandwich that is easily prepared and will fill you up!
Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

1 - Pita (White or Wheat, you choose)
    2 oz - Deli Turkey
    3/4 cup - Lettuce (I prefer romaine)
1 oz - Fat Free Feta Cheese

    Quick Gyro Sauce:
2 Tbsp - Plain Nonfat Yogurt
    1 Tsp - Garlic Powder
    Diced Cucumber if desired

Directions

First whip up the Quick Gyro Sauce directly on the Pita for quickness and less cleanup: Spread the yogurt on the pita, add garlic powder and diced cucumber, mix it all up and re-spread. You may wish to experiment with the garlic-to-yogurt ratio, I like lots of garlic!

Heat turkey if desired (on stove, in microwave, etc). I prefer the sandwich cold myself.

Put turkey, feta, and lettuce onto the pita, fold and eat. Quick sandwich, fills you up like none other! Not exactly a gyro, but healthier, and just as tasty.

Serving size is one (large) sandwich. So big, might be better classified as a dinner sandwich.
