Introduction

Ingredients

    1 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper, I use a pepper mill blend of four different Peppers
    2 TBSP Smart Balance, Smart Balance Light Buttery Spread, only 50 calories a tbsp.
    3 cup chopped potatoes, Boiled Potato with Skin no salt, remove skin before mashing the potatoes to a lumpy but creamy state
    1/2 tsp Salt-free Mrs. Dash Seasoning Blend Table Blend or to taste.

Tips

Very plain potatoes, but full of potassium and can be kicked up a notch in flavor by the addition of paprika or chili powder and any other spice besides salt, for flavor.


Directions

Cut and boil potatoes in salt free water until tender, about 20 minutes. Then remove the potatoes from the pot with a slotted spoon and reserve some of the potato water for mixing to mash them in a separate bowl. Add the Smart Balance buttery spread and the seasonings and mix well with a masher or fork and serve while hot.
The smart balance I use doesn't have any animal ingredients in it, like milk so dish is a low sodium vegan side dish.
