Introduction

I like that I'm getting lots of veggies in this sauce.
No sodium tomato paste & fresh tomatoes would cut down on the sodium

Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    2 garlic cloves
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped sweet red pepper
    2 - 28 oz can diced tomatoes
    6 oz. tomato paste 2 tsp dried Basil
    1-2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. cardamon
    2 tsp. sugar
    salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Brown & drain ground beef then set aside
Brown onion & garlic in a little olive oil
Add celery, red pepper & mushrooms & cook 1-2 min.
Add ground beef, tomatoes, tomato paste & spice
Simmer 1 hr. (I like to simmer several hours)
