Rosemary, dried, 1 tbsp (remove)
Basil, 2 tbsp (remove)
Thyme, fresh, 1 tsp (remove)
Garlic, 5 cloves (remove)
Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) (remove)
Parsley, 5 tbsp (remove)
Crushed Tomatoes, 828 (remove)
Jennie-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey, 16 oz (remove)
crushed red pepper flakes, 6 tsp (remove)
Swanson Chicken Broth 99% Fat Free, 1 cup (remove)
Directions
put turkey into deep skillet or dutch oven & brown.
while turkey is browning, work opn tomatoes. roughly chop 2-3 tomatoes. Puree the rest in a food processor or blender until crushed or sauce like consistency- depending if you like it chinky or all pureed.
remove turkey from pan when cooked through.
put chpped onion into leftover drippings over medium heat & saute/sweat until soft. add garlic and saute a few seconds. add all herbs & red pepper, saute until fragrant. add broth and scrape up brown bits-deglaze the pan. cook for a minute or two. add tomtoes and turkety to dutch oven and allow to simmer for about 15 minutes.
salt & pepper to taste.
